The Postcard Project
June 2020 - August 2020
Through funding from the Barger Leadership Institute at the University of Michigan, the postcard project came to life. As life was becoming increasingly more uncertain as a result of the Covid-19 Pandemic, I spent the summer creating mailing out postcard kits to alumni from the University of Michigan. 174 postcards were returned to me, all of them containing heartwarming stories of how UofM alumni had met and made friends on campus.
The postcard responses were displayed at many first-year and incoming student events hosted virtually throughout the summer. With responses coming from graduates from 1964 all the way to 2020. With the postcards as proof, I wanted to show that despite the challenges that 2020 may bring, it is still possible to find friendships in serendipitous ways.
